DJI Mavic Pro Review!!!

DJI rolled out the new Mavic Pro a few months ago and it’s currently one of the hottest new drones on the market, so I wanted to give you my review of it after having it for a few months. There are way too many features for me to cover here and there are many that I am still learning about, but I’ll cover the basics in hopes that this will help any of you who are considering a Mavic as your first or next drone.

Let’s talk about the “biggest feature” first - the size!

* The Mavic is less than 8” long and 3 1/4” wide and 3 1/4” tall when folded up

* When unfold it’s just over 13” diagonally

* It weighs in at just over 1 1/2 pounds with the props on and battery in

// CONTROLLER

I really love the way the controller is made. It looks and feels a lot like a gaming controller and is very comfortable to hold. The sticks feel quite natural and are very responsive.

First thing to know is that it connects to your phone or tablet and you use the DJI Go app to see what the camera sees as well as to change all kinds of settings on the Mavic. You don’t have to use your phone if you don’t want to because it has a wifi mode that allows you to fly without the controller - but to be honest, since I can get set up and in the air in 60 seconds using my phone connected to the controller, I have never wanted to fly without it.

You can use your iPhone or Android phone to connect to the controller using the included cables. If you have a slim case on your phone, you can leave it on, but thicker cases will have to be removed to allow your phone to fit.

To connect the controller to your phone, all you do is open up the two bottom arms, plug the cable into your phone, and squeeze the two arms together, allowing your phone to fit snugly into the slots in the arms. It took me a little practice, but now I can connect in just a few seconds.

// BUTTONS ON THE CONTROLLER

* At the top left of the controller is a “Return to Home” button.

* Next to the left stick is a pause button that you can press when in certain modes to have it stop and hover.

* At the bottom right of the controller screen is a 5 direction button that you can customize to do things like zoom in and out, change to the map view, and more.

* Then there are two shoulder buttons with the left one used to start/stop recording and the right to take a photo.

* Below each of those are dials that allow you to move the gimbal up and down and to control the exposure settings of the camera.

* Finally, lower down on the back side are two buttons called C1 and C2. These can be customized to do things like center auto focus, playback video, and more.

The DJI Go app allows you to see what the camera sees while you’re flying and provides all kinds of other useful data and controls. You can see how much battery you have left, how high you are, how far away from your launch point you are, how many more minutes of flight you have, how many satellites you’re connected to, how much space you have left on your SD card, camera settings, and much, much more.

Yuneec Breeze 4K - First Major Crash - How To Avoid This!

It finally happened Yuneec Breeze major crash. The last clip of a vlog I shot yesterday was suppose to be me flying the yuneec breeze 4K off a open 5 story parking garage in journey mode, but due to the high-rise buildings and concrete parking structure, it lost GPS upon take-off and went rogue. Luckily into the side barrier of the parking garage and not over the top into the public below. This could have been avoided by launching in pilot mode instead of journey mode which is dependent on gps lock.

My name is Dominick, most of you know me from social media as "dominickcidoni" and from my website as "mycharlottelifesblog". I'm originally from New York, Brooklyn to be exact. Charlotte is where I met my soul-mate Judi, and called North Carolina my home. We have two great children together Marissa & Jonathan, which you have seen grow up through pixels. I started to post some pictures of the fam and people liked them so I just kept going, the rest is history. I blog and post about anything thats on my mind at the time, and try hard to make my Social Media fun to follow. Thank you for following and supporting my craziness, stay tuned there's more to come.

For Christmas this year, my wife purchased this drone for me because she knew how much I enjoyed flying around the previous Protocol drone I had reviewed. Although the Protocol was an excellent drone choice for the price range of only $79.99, I needed something with a little more advanced features and decided to look toward something like the DJ Phantom, but did'nt really enjoy the size and weight. So my wife decided to compromise and purchase this litte gem in hopes that it would fulfill my needs, and I couldn't be happier. This little drone has all of the advanced features someone would want or need in order to take fantastic and breathtaking aerial footage along with some awesome and clear photos. The Breeze has a maxium altitude of 262.5 feet and max distance of 328.1feet. But after a height test I got it to about 317 feet before loosing the wifi signal between my iphone 7 plus and the drone. It hovered for about 1 minute before returning succesfully to it's take-off point around 3 feet away from the mark. This is important because if you launch close to a structure, upon return it could put it into the side of that structure, hitting the stop button gives you back full control.

Flying the drone is a breeze, maybe that's where the name came from:) My 8 year old without any experience what so ever, flew this with ease, in an open field of course. I flew it around the yard and it responded perfectly to each command using the free Breeze Cam app available on IOS and Android. I have been visiting Buffalo with family this Christmas and tried a test flight here with 12 mph winds and up to 33 mph gusts. I let it hover only and did not attempt a flight but it drifted very little and held up like a champ about 2.6 feet above the ground. Updating the firmware if available can be done through the same app and upon opening the package, there was an update ready for download. It took around 10 minutes of extra time before attempting to fly the drone.

You will need to calibrate the drone as well for your location in order to get the best results, and this takes an additional 5 minutes. In the package you will find 2 batteries, 4 propeller protectors, charger, power cable and data transfer cable to plug into the drone and retrieve your photos and videos. After a flight I can tell you the battery lasts for about 10-12 minutes depending on usage, such as recording time and so forth. Charging the battery takes around 45 minutes.

In my opinion the price of $499.00 seems kind of steep for the Breeze, and would like to see it listed around $399.00 without having to be on sale. Most people will move more toward the DJ Phantom 3 for the same price. My wife was lucky enough to get it on sale for $379.00 at Best Buy which is a great price point I can live with for what you get. The Breeze is ultra portable and for this reason, it fits my needs very well. If you have a Breeze and would like to leave your comments and thoughts, please feel free to add them below and give potential buyers a little more insight into your own experience with this drone. JJRC H37 Elfie Foldable Selfie Drone Flight Test Review

This cheap foldable pocket FPV camera quadcopter can be taken and flown just about anywhere to get those all important selfie shots ;-) Buy it here and here is the Dobby which this is imitating take the marketing videos that you may have seen for the JJRC H37 with a grain of salt. This is not a GPS equipped, HD camera, follow me drone like the Dobby. It's a $42 toy quadcopter, and is equipped accordingly. If you keep this in mind, then you might not be disappointed.

Pros

- Foldable and very portable.

- Easy to setup and fly. Especially using G-sensor control with headless mode.

- Tilting lens 720 x 576p camera, and can be flown with the camera pointed toward you using headless mode for those selfie shots.

- It's relatively inexpensive compared to the quadcopters that it's imitating.

Cons

- This quadcopter does not come with any directions at all in the box :( But it's very simple to figure out. Just use the above video review to get you started :)

- Low resolution 720p x 576 camera.

- There is no microSD card slot on the quadcopter. Video is instead recorded to your phone over WiFi, with resulting lag and freeze issues normally seen with WiFi FPV video.

- No separate controller is available for this. Can only be controlled using WiFi through your phone.

- The official "JJRC" app is not very useful with this quadcopter. Some of the features of the JJRC app are inoperative, most notably G-sensor control. BUT the free and very similar app "WiFi-UFO" does work with this perfectly. "WiFi-UFO" is available on Google Play here and iTunes here Description

The 100m control distance offers you the awesome bird's-eye view. (Unfortunately I did not confirm the 100m range, but this would be very dependent on the strength of the WiFi signal from your particular phone)

- Headless Mode

In this mode, the drone flies to any direction you want even though you do not know its orientation.

- One Key Return

After flying the drone for a long time, you can relax a little bit by using this function to make it return to the home point.

- Aerial Show

It is capable of carrying out 360-degree rotations towards various directions with amazing agility.

- G-sensor Control

The G-sensor mode enables the small quadcopter to automatically follow the way you move your smartphone.

DJI Mavic Pro 2nd Week Review

I've had the DJI Mavic Pro Fly More Combo for two weeks now. In that amount of time I've managed to log about 20 flights worth 2.5 hours of flight time for a distance of 8nm. During these first few flights I've mainly concentrated on learning the controls, flight characteristics and camera operations. To say the least, I'm really impressed by this capable, compact and foldable drone.

Parrot Bebop - The Little Drone That Could!

The best drone I've flown yet! Camera is incredibly good! Get more info here is my 5th Drone I have flown, and it is the best one yet as far as easy flight goes and with the best camera BY FAR!!! This is not your average cheapo quad copter you just fly around and have dumb fun. This is a Drone made for recording video, so it is made of high quality materials for the maximum performance for it's size.

I reached out on a cool website SproutUp.com that I am new on, and it gives me the ability to try new high quality products. I don't get to keep it though, as I have to return it by a date.

Anyway, during my time with it, I absolutely loved it. The video camera is far better than I would have ever thought I could get my hands on to review, and it is built in, so you don't need to worry about those extra attachment weight like gopros just to get beautiful video recording.

I definitely recommend this if you been wanting to up your drone game, or if you've been awaiting for a drone such like this Parrot Bepop, well you know what to do!
